Local Conservatives and fellow coffee drinkers gathered on 25 September at the Open Door Coffee Shop in Lyon Square on the Dee Park Estate, for a coffee morning to raise some funds for Macmillan Cancer Research. The Open Door Coffee Shop is a community project run by the Mustard Tree Foundation charity in Reading.

Alok Sharma, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Reading West, who joined the coffee morning said: “It was good to get together to raise a cuppa and a bit of money for Macmillan Cancer Research who do such a fantastic job in improving the lives of those who are suffering from cancer. Many thanks to everyone who took part and thanks also to the Open Door Coffee Shop who brewed up some fantastic Fair Trade coffee.”

The event raised £143 for Macmillan Cancer Research.
