Alok Sharma, the Member of Parliament for Reading West, visited Pangbourne Bowls Club earlier this month.

The Pangbourne Bowls Club recently celebrated 100 years since it was formed in 1922 with a special party when over 50 members, past members and friends joined together on a warm summer afternoon.  

Alok started the proceedings by raising the Club’s new flag specially commissioned to mark the centenary. 

Alok said:

“It was fantastic to be invited to take part in Pangbourne Bowls Club’s centenary celebration. It was an honour to raise the centenary flag and meet so many members of the Club. Here’s to the next 100 years!”

Sue Jones, Ladies captain of Pangbourne Bowls Club said:

“We had a really good day, meeting up with over 30 past members, and meeting Alok made it more special, I hope he enjoyed the afternoon and perhaps he would like to come to the club again sometime and if he has time to even play it's a great sport/activity.”
