Following the release by Blue Living of their Pincents Hill Design Enquiry Report, Alok Sharma, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Reading West commented: "Having reviewed the report we now have a little more information on Blue Living's proposals although clearly more concrete details will not become available until a planning application is submitted during the early part of 2009. What is clear however is that the application will propose the building of 700 - 900 homes on the site and many of the local people I have spoken to are totally opposed to this and are deeply concerned about the loss of green space, the impact on the environment and wildlife and the ability of the road infrastructure to cope with several thousand extra vehicles."

Alok continued: "Now that this report has been published by Blue Living I will, as promised to local residents, circulate a questionnaire to all homes across greater Tilehurst, Calcot and Theale to seek the views of all local residents about this proposal and organise a series of public meetings to allow local residents to air their views. I know the Government is keen to see thousands of new homes built across Reading and West Berkshire but it should not be a case of development at any cost and local residents must be allowed to have their say."
