Alok Sharma, the Member of Parliament for Reading West, on Friday 1st August 2014, attended the grand opening of Reading’s newest restaurant, Faith Kitchen.

Alok officially opened the restaurant, owned by Dr Elizabeth Omole, which is located on Oxford Road.

The restaurant will serve traditional African cuisine, including soups, Jollof rice, sweet chilli yams, plantains, meat and fish and oven-baked pastries. The restaurant will also provide a take-away and local delivery service.

Dr Omole is originally from Nigeria, but moved to Reading in November, having lived in London for 30 years.

Alok Sharma said: “I was delighted to officially open Faith Kitchen. The delicious African menu will certainly fill a gap in the market for Reading’s African community and all lovers of African cuisine, and I wish the restaurant all the best for the future.”

Dr Elizabeth Omole, Owner of Faith Kitchen said: “It was great to have Alok Sharma MP open Faith Kitchen. Thank you Alok for the excellent way you opened Faith Kitchen. Faith Kitchen is a unique and authentic African restaurant that will not only meet needs of Africans, but provide a conducive atmospheric condition with maximum satisfaction and enjoyment for anyone who sits in or orders our delicacies online.”
