Alok Sharma, the Member of Parliament for Reading West, has organised a public meeting to discuss policing issues for residents living in Purley. The meeting will take place from 7pm to 8pm on Thursday 28th April at St Mary’s Church, St Mary’s Avenue.
Attending the meeting along with Alok will be the West Berkshire Policing Area Commander, Superintendent Jims Weems and the head of the local Neighbourhood Policing Team, Inspector Chris Ward.
At the meeting the police will update residents on the work they have been doing to combat local crime in Purley and will also be a great opportunity for local residents to ask questions and raise any concerns they may have with senior police officers.
The Purley meeting follows a successful meeting for residents living in Battle and Minster wards held in March and further meetings for residents living in other areas of the Reading West constituency will be held during the year.
Alok Sharma said: “I know policing matters and combating crime are a real priority for many of my constituents and therefore, together with Thames Valley Police, I have organised this public meeting for Purley residents. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting on 28th April but to assist with planning, I would be grateful if you could get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org or 0118 941 3803 to indicate whether you hope to attend.”
