Alok Sharma, the Member of Parliament for Reading West, will be chairing a public meeting this week with Thames Valley Police for Southcote residents. The meeting will take place from 7pm to 8pm on Thursday 26th May at St. Matthew’s Church, 205 Southcote Lane.
Attending the meeting along with Alok will be Simon Briggs, Neighbourhood Inspector for South, North and West Reading from Thames Valley Police and Joe Northcote, Neighbourhood Initiatives Officer at Reading Borough Council.
At the meeting the police will update residents on the work they have been doing to combat local crime in Southcote, including traffic issues, drugs, litter and fly-tipping.
Alok Sharma said: “I have organised regular public meetings since 2010 for residents across the Reading West constituency on a range of issues, and I am continuing that work in this Parliament. Following the success of recent meetings I have organised for residents in Purley and the Battle ward area some weeks ago, this meeting will provide an excellent opportunity for local Southcote residents to raise any particular concerns they may have with Thames Valley Police or the local council. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting on 26th May but to assist with planning, I would be grateful if you could get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org or 0118 941 3803 to indicate whether you hope to attend.”
Further meetings for residents living in other areas of the Reading West constituency will be held during the year.
