Park Lane Junior School Council

Alok Sharma, Member of Parliament for Reading West last Friday met with Park Lane Junior School’s elected School Councillors. Mr Sharma was invited by Miss Claire Roberts one of the teachers at the school to come and speak to the school’s council about how Parliament works and his role as an MP.

The School Council had approached each class in the school to ask if they had any questions to ask Mr Sharma. Mr Sharma was delighted to speak with the pupils and answer their thoughtful and engaging questions.

Alok Sharma MP said: “My visit to Park Lane Junior School was an excellent opportunity for me to engage with my younger constituents and answer their thoughtful questions. I would like to thank Miss Claire Roberts for inviting me to speak with the School Council and I look forward to hosting them on their visit to Parliament in the near future.”

Miss Claire Roberts, teacher at Park Lane Junior School said: “Park Lane Juniors and their elected School Councillors were very excited to meet the MP Alok Sharma.  They asked each class for suggested questions to put to him.  It was a great opportunity for the children, especially in advance of their trip to Parliament early next year.”
