Alok Sharma, the local Member of Parliament for Reading West, has visited the Kennedy Scott Ltd Work and Health centre in Reading to join their 30th Anniversary celebrations.
Kennedy Scott was founded in 1989 by Teresa Scott, with the aim of supporting people to achieve their potential and progress in their careers. The company’s mission is to deliver a high-quality service to those it seeks to help, ensuring people in the local area receive the right support to get them into fulfilling work that suits them.
Kennedy Scott’s Work and Health Programme is delivered across Berkshire and Buckinghamshire on behalf of Pluss, in conjunction with the Department of Work and Pensions. The programme is funded by the European Social Fund and offers a bespoke service to fit individual needs to support participants along a journey and into sustainable employment. The programme supports individuals to develop their confidence, build their motivation and increase work related skills.
Alok was delighted to meet the staff at Kennedy Scott and congratulate them on their efforts to ensure the company’s continued success and future growth. Alok also met with recruiters at the event who work with Kennedy Scott on a regular basis to assist people with finding work.
In March, Alok invited Kennedy Scott to exhibit at a Disability Confident event and represent local employers. The successful event aimed to help employers realise the benefits that this pool of talented people can bring to the workforce. Alok will continue to support the work Kennedy Scott does in the local area to help people apply their skillset within the workplace.
Alok Sharma said: “It was a pleasure to attend the Kennedy Scott 30th Anniversary and to celebrate the achievements of all the hard-working staff at the company. I am delighted that Kennedy Scott continues to expand and grow, with the results of their efforts reflected in high levels of employment in the Reading West area.”
Teresa Scott OBE, Founder and CEO of Kennedy Scott, said: “Thank you to Alok for taking the time to support us today at our Work & Health Reading centre. Kennedy Scott provide 1-2-1 tailored support for unemployed customers with disabilities, LD & Mental health challenges to progress into good local sustainable jobs. We are proud of our success in changing lives for the better and are grateful to Alok for his continued support.”
