Alok Sharma, the Member of Parliament for Reading West, was delighted to attend the Royal Berkshire Hospital’s open day last Saturday.

The open day consisted of bespoke departmental tours, where guests could learn about the hospital’s renowned cardiology service and the hospital’s robotic pharmacy service.

The day was attended by representatives from South Central Ambulance Service, North & West Reading and South Reading Clinical Commissioning Groups, Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Reading Healthwatch and Thames Valley Clinical Trials Unit.

Mr Sharma was shown around the various exhibits and stalls by the Chief Executive of the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Steve McManus.

Alok Sharma said: “I’d like to thank the Royal Berkshire Hospital for inviting me to this engaging event to showcase the quality of the service and care that they provide to their patients. It was great to meet some of the doctors and nurses who provide such wonderful care at the hospital.”
