Alok Sharma, the Member of Parliament for Reading West, last week attended Feel Good Friday at Tilehurst Methodist Church.
The weekly event organised by Revered Andy Moffoot is open to everyone from the community and provides a warm and friendly atmosphere to have fun and meet new people. Feel Good Friday offers people the chance to come and have a break, read the newspaper or take part in games and quizzes. Refreshments are also provided for the attendees.
Alok enjoyed meeting with the attendees and took part in a general knowledge quiz and sampled some of the tea and delicious cakes provided.
Alok Sharma MP said: “I am so grateful to Revered Andy Moffoot for inviting me to Feel Good Friday and to Tony Vickers who invited me to attend. Feel Good Friday provides a hugely valuable community service, I had a wonderful time meeting everyone at the event and really enjoyed the quiz!”
Reverend Andy Moffoot said: “Tilehurst Methodist Church appreciated the visit of Mr Sharma to our Feel Good Friday friendship Cafe on Friday 20th October. Our group really appreciated how Alok spent time with each of them individually and then joined in our quiz at the end of the morning. Some of the questions had been deliberately included as they related to Mr Sharma’s own background, including his school moto and the name of his dog! Fortunately Alok got these right!”
Anyone interested in attending Feel Good Friday can do so by contacting Revered Andy Moffoot on 0118 942 7128 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Further details can also be found at the following link: www.tilehurstmethodist.org.uk/feelgoodfriday.htm.
